There is a lot of competition for available rental properties in the current market, but when a landlord lists their property with us, we will email available properties that match your search criteria straight to your inbox.

Short-term or long-term?

As well as deciding how many bedrooms and the desired location, you’ll also want to determine if you are looking for a short let or long-term let. A short let is often the choice of those waiting to move, renovate, work, or get to know the location. Sometimes bills are included, and the property will come fully furnished, but it is always best to check. A long-term let would usually be unfurnished, and the tenant would be responsible for paying all bills. A long-term let is anything from 6 months onwards. 

View properties, make an offer

When you’ve found a property that interests you, you’ll contact your agent who can book a viewing and show you around the home. If it’s suitable and you like what you see, you can make an offer, which the agent will take to the landlord. Once the offer is accepted, the agent will collect references, arrange a tenancy agreement, collect your deposit, check your ID, and conduct Right to Rent checks. Once everything is processed, you will have a date to move in.

We will talk you through everything that is expected of you as a tenant from caring for the property, rent payments and what to do in an emergency. Equally, we will discuss with you all of the landlord’s legal responsibilities for both you and the property so that you know what to expect.

We will keep your deposit safe 

It is now a legal requirement for landlords to put their tenants deposit into a government approved deposit protection scheme. Tenancy deposit protection (TDP) schemes guarantee that tenants will get their deposits back at the end of their tenancy, providing that they’ve met the terms of their tenancy agreement.
