Our Findon team love working in an area of outstanding natural beauty which is steeped in history and the local village feel means that we enjoy a close knit community. We have a broad local knowledge of all the areas that we cover which includes Findon Village, Findon Valley, High Salvington and the surrounding areas, including Nepcote.
Findon is a charming Downland village in the Arun district of West Sussex situated four miles north of Worthing. It lies between two hills, Cissbury with its Iron Age hill fort to the east and Church Hill to the West.
The popular residential area of Findon Valley lies to the south of Findon Village and enjoys a bustling shopping parade with a good selection of well supported shops as well as a nearby doctor’s surgery, library, churches and vets. The Gallops, is a large public open space with playground and there are many lovely walks and bridle paths within our area with the added pleasure of spectacular Downland views.
High Salvington is also a prime residential area and has a landmark windmill which has been restored to working condition over the last 30 years which is open to the public. Findon also includes the hamlet of Nepcote which is the venue for the annual Findon Sheep Fair in September, an event which dates from the 1780’s.
There is a parish church in Findon Village and St John the Baptist school which is a small primary school situated on School Hill with a Good Ofsted rating.
If you enjoy good food and a wide selection of wines and ales, there are four public houses (The Gun Inn, The Black Horse, The Village House and The Snooty Fox) all located in the High Street where you will receive a warm welcome.
There is a very strong sense of community within the village and it boasts many annual events, including a fireworks display and May Day celebrations.
James has a very fit and active family who love being in Findon with its many opportunities for outdoor fun and adventure. Weekends are spent either supporting his sons under 11’s football team or cycling on the many trails along the South Downs which are easily accessible from the village. After all that activity, there is no better way to round off a weekend than with a Sunday roast at the Black Horse in Findon village where the whole family is very welcome.
