Broadwater is a great place to live as it is conveniently located at the foot of the Southdowns National Park within a mile of Worthing town centre but still maintains its parish feel. Our office is conveniently situated on the main parade of shops and our team know the surrounding area like the back of their hands. Once a parish in its own right, Broadwater was incorporated into the Worthing Borough in 1902 which was then only a fishing hamlet. It borders Tarring to the West, Sompting to the East and East Worthing to the South East.
Broadwater is centred around Broadwater Green which is home to the oldest cricket club in Worthing who have been playing on the green since 1771. Many events are held on the green throughout the year including the Broadwater Festival in July and the annual Summer fair. It is also used during the year for various events and activities.
The main Broadwater parade has a wide variety of shops and facilities, including a supermarket, florist, hairdressers, pharmacy and its own post office. There are two pubs, The Cricketers and The Broadwater and numerous cafes and places to eat including a large Starbucks at the top of the high street.
Broadwater also has a number of local schools including Bramber Primary School and Bohunt Secondary School which opened in 2015, both with excellent reputations.
Breakfast at Muldoons Café served with a cup of their outstanding coffee. Peter enjoys a round of golf at the historic Hillbarn Golf Course, conveniently situated just off the A24 near Worthing. For the evening, he would recommend Noori’s Indian Restaurant and take away on Broadwater Street. On a warm summers day though, you can’t beat a pint and some home cooked food at the Cricketers Pub conveniently located opposite the Broadwater branch!
