Our commercial team has been working on a deal to secure new premises in the centre of Worthing for ‘The Gym Hub’ run by Impulse Leisure. Unit 17 Guildbourne has stood empty since the exit of Somerfield supermarket in 2012. Our team has worked with both the owners of the centre and the council to secure a change of use to a gymnasium and they will be opening their doors on Saturday 10th June 2017.
After an abortive letting in 2014 which delayed matters, Impulse Leisure came forward and signed a new 15-year lease to operate as The Gym Hub. The cost of membership is £20 per month with no contract and the gym will be open seven days a week. Due to the town centre location, the unit is ideally positioned for those looking to use the facilities before and after work, and during lunch breaks.
Steve Berrett, commercial director at Michael Jones & Company commented: “It has taken some time to pull this deal off given the complexities of the centre and change of use required, however we are pleased that the fit-out has been completed and The Gym Hub will soon be opening its doors to the public”.
