Lancing Rangers under 10, Worthing Rebels under 11, Worthing United under 12 and AFC Worthing under 13 have each received a brand new kit from the family-owned company. The teams were selected as part of the firm’s campaign to help the area’s football stars of the future.
Michael Jones donated £25 for every instruction it received to sell or let a property during the World Cup towards buying kits for the teams. The campaign has been praised by Sussex County Football Association as a great way to support grass roots football.
Ken Benham, Chief Executive of Sussex County FA, said: “It’s good to see a local company develop a campaign that markets their services and benefits football, particularly grass roots teams who may be suffering because of the difficult economic climate.”
Kevin Bell, Manager of Worthing Rebels under 11 team said: “We were finding it really hard to attract a new sponsor and are grateful to Michael Jones for running such a fantastic initiative. The boys have done really well this season coming third in the league and winning three out of five tournaments. Hopefully we can make the firm proud next season.”
Dan Tuppen, Assistant Manager of Lancing Rangers under 10 team said: “We’re really pleased to see a local successful organisation supporting a local club. The kits look great and it was perfect timing, as were looking for a sponsor. Last year we were awarded ‘Chartered Standard Development Club of the Year’, and the team just keeps going from strength to strength.”
Mike Jones said: “We were overwhelmed by the response to our campaign from homeowners and landlords. Their tremendous support has allowed us to give these teams a cracking start to next season and to fulfil our pledge to help as many youth sides as possible. We’d like to thank our clients and wish each team the best of luck.”
