Rollover image to enlargeAward-winning estate and lettings agent, Michael Jones, has completed on a chain of three houses in Goring against all the odds. It took just two months for experienced sales negotiator, Nicky Van Der Hage to get all three vendors to the point of exchange despite difficult circumstances.
During the sales process one of the vendors sadly died and, as his family lived overseas the negotiations took on an international dimension. The vendor’s daughter, who had been recommended to Michael Jones, had flown over from America to put her father’s house on the market because he was in poor health. On top of this the chain almost collapsed when one of the buyers withdrew, but within 24 hours Michael Jones had re-sold the house to another buyer in a good position.
Mr and Mrs Pickett who moved from Rose Walk with their two children and cat said: “Nicky went beyond the call of duty. Not only did she listen to what we wanted in a house and found the perfect home for us, she took it upon herself to contact our vendor’s family abroad and explained our situation to them. They kindly agreed to allow us to move into their empty property even though it was subject to probate. If Nicky hadn’t done this, we would have been homeless and I’m not sure we would be in here now! It was a very delicate situation which she handled brilliantly. I’d recommend Michael Jones to anybody trying to sell a property.”
The couple’s buyers, Mr and Mrs Mealand were equally impressed. Mr Mealand commented: “Michael Jones have the edge over other agents. Although it was the worst possible time to sell, they still got lots of people through the door and always gave us feedback the same day. They were very efficient but not pushy at all and didn’t keep badgering us. Even when our sale fell through they managed to find another buyer at very short notice. We felt we were in good hands.”
