Twentieth anniversary celebrations are taking place at leading estate, letting and commercial agent Michael Jones. To mark the opening of the company’s first office in Worthing twenty years ago, Michael Jones is giving 20% off its standard fee to homeowners looking to sell their property. In addition, Michael Jones is making a donation to its nominated charity of the year – the Camelia Botnar Children’s Centre – for every instruction received during its twenty twenty campaign.

“We wanted to give something back to the community to thank them for their support over the last 20 years, which was more than a special promotion or prize draw” explained Mike Jones. “As a family owned company and local employer, we like to do whatever we can to help organisations, clubs and charities in the area. The Camelia Botnar Children’s Centre charity, with its fantastic facilities for pre-school children with special needs and from disadvantaged homes, seemed the perfect choice for our special twentieth anniversary year.”

Michael Kay, Director of Partnerships and Fundraising at the Camelia Botnar Children’s Centre commented: “We at the Camelia Botnar Children’s Centre are absolutely delighted that Michael Jones, who is such a prominent member of the business community, has chosen us as their Charity of the Year. Michael Jones has regularly shown their corporate citizenship credentials helping many diverse good causes to the benefit of the local community. For us to be chosen this year is indeed an honour in itself and we are sure that this partnership will result in a valuable contribution to the much-needed funds we must raise to continue our provision of free pre-school care to Worthing and its hinterland.”

A local business success story, Michael Jones was established by Mike Jones in 1991 and now employs over 40 staff at its five residential sales offices in Worthing, Goring, Findon, Lancing and Broadwater, two lettings offices in Worthing and Lancing, and commercial department in the town centre. In the past five years Michael Jones has been awarded the Best Estate Agency in Sussex, and voted one of Britain’s Best Estate Agents twice, as well Worthing’s favourite estate agent.

“1991 was probably one of the worst years to start up an estate agency. The country was in recession and the bottom had fallen out of the property market. But in a lot ways surviving the worst at the beginning makes you better prepared. The business has gone from strength to strength and we now offer a wide range of services for homeowners, buyers, landlords, tenants, land owners and property developers. We’ve invested heavily in our marketing and systems to provide the highest standard of service.

“We’ve been fortunate in attracting the best sales negotiators and support staff in the area. Some of our employees have been with us for more than ten years. It’s this loyalty and commitment to being the best that makes the difference and has helped us to build a loyal customer base, as well as an excellent network of contacts amongst other professionals in the area.”

The Camelia Botnar Children’s Centre opened in 1979 provides pre-school care for children in West Sussex with special needs and from disadvantaged homes. It needs to raise £150,000 this year to keep it operational and extend its day care to 50 weeks a year. Located in Goring, its facilities are fully inclusive and free of charge to all children aged between two months to five years.. For more information, visit www.camelia-botnar-childrens-centre.org
