Rollover image to enlargeYouth football teams in Worthing and Lancing are lining up to receive a brand new kit for next season thanks to a World Cup campaign by local estate and letting agents, Michael Jones. The campaign is designed to help some of the areas’ potential football stars of the future and is being supported by Sussex County Football Association.
Michael Jones has pledged to donate £25 towards buying kits for local teams every time it receives an instruction to sell or let a property until the World Cup Final on 11th July. Adverts have been placed in the local property paper to encourage homeowners thinking about selling or letting their property to support the football stars of the future campaign.
The firm is hoping to capitalise on the interest generated by the World Cup to promote grass roots football and bring some of the attention home to the many youngsters who dream of playing for their country. It is committed to buying kits for as many local youth teams as possible during the period of the promotion.
Mike Jones said: “As a family-owned company, we’re always looking at ways we can give something back to the local community. While most of us have caught World Cup fever and will be cheering on England, some of the younger football teams have been left out in the cold and are having a tough time getting financial support. They are the lifeblood of our great footballing nation and we want to do our bit to help them across Worthing and Lancing.”
Ken Benham, Chief Executive of Sussex County FA, said: “We are delighted to support this ‘football stars of the future’ initiative by Michael Jones. It’s great to see a local company develop a campaign that markets their services and benefits football, particularly grass roots teams who may be suffering because of the difficult economic climate. We would like to wish Michael Jones every success and hope they succeed in getting kits for as many teams as possible.” For more information about SCFA visit www.sussexfa.com
