Rollover image to enlargeA Charity Fun Day hosted by Goring Cricket Club has raised £1,400 for Cancer Research. Sixteen teams from local organisations took part, including leading estate, letting and commercial agents, Michael Jones. The firm is a keen supporter of the charity and enter a team each year.
Despite putting in a brilliant performance, the team from Michael Jones was beaten in the final of The Plate by “The West Indian Wide Boys”. The overall trophy was won by Goring Road Carpets with the runners up being Goring Cricket Team
The event was organised Goring Cricket Club. A spokesperson from the club said: “It has been another very successful year for the Charity, helped by the glorious weather. We’d like to thank all the teams who participated, the supporters and everyone who helped on the day. We are looking forward to next year!”
Steve Berrett, Partner at Michael Jones said: “It was a fantastic day and a fantastic amount was raised for a very good cause. We all had a great time and are looking forward to getting our hands on the trophy next year!”
